Founder and Principal Coach of Youtopient

Merlin is the Founder and Principal Coach at Youtopient, an innovation and transformation coaching practice dedicated to supporting change-makers in the age services sector.

He was also an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Canberra (UC), where he redesigned and delivered UC’s Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship unit, preparing it for both face-to-face and online delivery.

He is best known in aged care for founding innovAGEING (iA), Australia’s national innovation network for age services, which grew into a community of over 4,000 participants and earned recognition in the Australian Financial Review’s Top 50 Most Innovative Companies list. He was also named an Association Influencer by the Australasian Society of Association Executives.

With an MBA from the Australian National University, an MA from University College London, and executive studies from Harvard, MIT, and Stanford, Merlin now shares his expertise to empower aged care leaders through coaching—helping them navigate transformation with clarity, confidence, and purpose.
