Dr. Jennie Hewitt

Dr Jennie Hewitt is a clinician, researcher, and educator with a passion for co-designing, and scaling positive ageing programs. She was awarded an ACSA National Lifetime Achievement Award for advocating for allied health services in aged care, and the “Morley Award” for the paper most likely to influence policy and practice from the Journal of the American Medical Directors Association.

Dr Hewitt appeared as an expert witness for the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety, providing evidence on best practice allied health, and was Technical Advisor to the National Chief Allied Health Officer for the Allied Health Group Therapy Program. She now works in Whiddon’s Research Hub Team, designing, testing, and scaling new approaches to reablement and positive ageing, and collaborating with research partners across a broad scope of integrated positive ageing trials.
