Rachael Wass is the Chief Executive Officer of Meaningful Ageing Australia, the national peak body driving the integration of spiritual care into quality ageing. She leads a bold, future‑focused organisation championing the social, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing of older people across Australia. Rachael’s leadership is grounded in lived experience.
For 15 years, she was the primary caregiver for an elderly parent navigating a terminal illness, an experience that fuels her commitment to dignity, connection, and person‑centred care. She holds a Master of Ageing and a Master of Commerce. A recognised voice in aged care reform, Rachael serves as Co‑Chair of the First Nations Workgroup and is an active member of the National Aged Care Alliance. She also contributes to the Department of Health, Ageing & Disability’s Aged Care Sector Reference Group, the ACQC Consumers and Families Panel, the ARIIA Palliative Care Knowledge & Expert Advisory Group, and the LGBTIQ+ Health Silver Rainbow advisory committee.
